Unlock Shade: A Highly Competitive & Powerful Bird!
Angry Birds 2 receives a new, permanent addition to the Flock–Shade!🦉 Here’s your go-to guide on how to unlock Shade during the promotion period (March 11-May 7)! Before we get into details, here are the prerequisites:
- You need to reach level 22 in the World Map to be able to see the in-game Event Calendar and to be able to unlock Shade
- Unlocking Shade costs 24,000 Shade Feathers
- Shade is also available through an in-app purchase, but we promise, the “grindy” way has been carefully adjusted!
We’ve chosen specifically Shade Feathers to give players a challenge–but one that is still very much attainable. For the sake of an equal chance to all, Rainbow Feathers do not count towards the 24,000 Shade Feathers counter or leveling her up during the promotion period. After May 7, Rainbow Feathers will count as normal towards upgrading the bird.
Shade’s bird card kickstarts at level 15, since 24,000 Feathers is the usual amount needed to reach that bird card level in general!
Shade Fever with 4X BOOST!
During the promotion period (March 11-May 7), Shade receives a 4x BOOST! This makes her highly competitive and highly powerful. We strongly recommend adding her to your Flock to maximize strategy, power, and gameplay satisfaction💪
Please note⚠️ After the promotion period, Shade’s 4x Boost ends. She will still be very powerful (and by then you’ll surely have mastered her!), but, alas, her superwoman phase has to end at some point.
In-Game Event Calendar
During the promotion period, the Event Calendar becomes your go-to hub. In there, you can:
- Try Shade out whenever you like before unlocking her!
- Check ongoing Shade-related events for collecting Shade Feathers, with an easy redirection to those events
- See Shade-related events to come
- Unlock Shade when you meet the prerequisites
Gathering Shade Feathers: Our Recommendation
Here’s an overview of the game team’s recommendation for reaching 24,000 Feathers EASILY:
- 🪶Feathermania (live March 11-March 13): Climb the Tower of Fortune and gather Shade Feathers
- ⚔️Daily Challenge & King Pig Panic: Spells are replaced with Shade Feathers during the promotion period, so you’ll receive ADDITIONAL feathers here
- 🏟️Arena: Adjusted rewards (nothing removed) to make space for Shade Feathers. Of course, quantity differs between leagues
