⚔️Clan Battles Update–Including Flock Power-Based Matchmaking⚔️
Let’s talk about the past few months and the plan for Clan Battles–from the Clan Battle on February 19 onwards.
Flock Power-Based Matchmaking Returns
For the past few months, the team has been vigorously discussing ideas, iterating on those, and theorizing further on what we can do to bring you the best Clan Battles experience possible. While we have various ideas on how to improve Clan Battles for the future, Flock Power-based matchmaking is a system that both the game team and the community understand. Rather than implementing something entirely new, we believe that going back to that system is the right choice for now.

This means that clan rating is no longer connected to matchmaking whatsoever. This change from clan rating to Flock Power also means that the points for winning and losing can differ between battles. In a situation where a weak Clan battles a strong one (in terms of Clan Flock Power), the weaker Clan might receive more points for winning.
We implemented this change with your feedback in mind. Several team members checked in on the community discussions on a daily basis, taking your ideas and thoughts into account!
In summary: You’re now matched based on your Clan’s total Flock Power. We know this doesn’t solve all issues, but our top priority right now is bringing you a stable Clan Battles experience. Any possible further improvements come after providing stable matchmaking.
Clan Leagues, Rewards & Auto-Signup Remain Unchanged
Clan Leagues will not receive any changes at the present time. This means that while we revert the matchmaking system to its former state, Clan Leagues will remain unchanged.
A complaint we often saw with the Flock Power-based matchmaking before was that it didn’t incentivize growth. Our aim with sticking to the current Clan League system is that it will reward your Clan and Flock Power growth as you reach for higher leagues and obtain even greater rewards.
This means that there are no changes made to the rewards in Clan Leagues at the current moment, and clan rating only affects the Clan League demotions and promotions.
Auto-Signup will also stay unchanged! A reminder of what this means: Clans with five or more members will automatically enter the matchmaking process for the upcoming Clan Battle.
Clan Swords are Replaced by Clan Flock Power
Swords have been used in Clan Battles to showcase your Clan’s clan rating. Swords will be replaced with the Clan’s Flock Power to match the changes with Flock Power-based matchmaking. In the following screens and menus, you will now see your Clan’s Flock Power instead:
- The Clan Battle preview screen
- The lobby menu
- The defeat screen
- The Clan profile screen
On the victory screen, you will see your Clan’s swords. This is only connected to your own Clan’s clan rating, since your Clan’s clan rating is connected to your Clan’s placement in Clan Leagues.
⚠️Please note! The visual changes to swords will only be visible once you update to 3.27. There will be a user interface discrepancy between those who have updated and those who have yet to! This will be resolved once Update 3.27 is forced. Thank you for your patience!⚠️
We’re implementing these changes for you based on your feedback, and that’s why we also believe that keeping the current Clan Leagues system is the best of both worlds–higher rewards than ever, Flock Power-based matchmaking, and a motivation to grow your Flock Power and Clan!
Once again, we on the AB2 team thank you for your patience over the past few months and truly appreciate your feedback. It has been invaluable in reshaping Clan Battles! Any further feedback on our Discord server or our Facebook page is very much appreciated.
Soar high, Flockers!
