Flock Forward 3: Elevating the Experience
We’re bringing the Flock Forward format back to more transparently communicate updates from the game team, our vision going forward, and answer any questions raised by the Community in the previous month!
So let’s get started, because there’s a lot going on in 2025…
Improved Technical Performance
Tech stability is at the core of it all, and we’ve taken major steps to reduce crash rates and player-facing bugs.
Thanks to improved internal processes, we’re catching more bugs than ever–before they reach you. In Update 4.0.0, we resolved around 80 bugs (in addition to the other behind-the-scenes features we worked on) before releasing the update! We also improved the crash rates:

These improvements have led to fewer players needing support! Since January 2025, the number of incoming Support tickets has reduced by about 1,000 per day–a good indicator that the improved technical performance is working.
With reduced crash rates and reduced player-facing bugs, we’re well on our way to making Angry Birds 2 as stable and snappy as it should be in 2025!
New Levels, More Hat Set Reruns, and Other Excitements!
Live Operations is the team working on live events and features. With Update 4.0.0, LiveOps added a bunch of new World Map chapters and new boss levels! More of those will come, but we might also have another level-related surprise for you in the coming updates… Stay tuned!

Angry Birds 2 Celebrates 10 Years!
And let’s not forget the 10th Anniversary celebrations! We hosted the classic Community Hat Set Contest with many great entries that truly captured the whimsical, dream-like theme! Winners have been chosen, and the hats are on the way! Here’s a sketch of them👇

We also hosted a Memories Giveaway, which highlighted some great memories among the Community! Be on the lookout for more events on our social media channels.

The Fantastical Hat Set will be live soon! We know you look forward to it–so do we💖
Early Game Experience Improvements
We’re also working hard on improving the early game experience for new and returning players! We’ll be testing various possible improvements to, e.g., the World Map, and we’re excited to see what new and returning players think! If the changes are turned on for everyone, you can rest assured that more information will come.

To Recap, Offline Mode Returned!
Since its removal, you all strongly advocated for offline mode to return to Angry Birds 2, and we’re happy to still celebrate its return! We made this decision strongly with your feedback in mind; we know that enjoying Angry Birds 2, whether offline or online, is central to your experience.

We’re delighted to see the positive response to Offline Mode! Here’s to many more celebrations🎉
Community Q&A for June
This month, Angry Birds 2’s Game Lead, David, is here to mainly address Update 4.0.0 and the issues that occurred!
What happened with the 4.0.0 update?
In the early rollout of the 4.0.0, we discovered a few technical issues and immediately halted the rollout to ensure that as few players as possible were impacted. Over the following days, the team worked diligently to resolve these issues and release the 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 updates. These updates were successful in resolving the major issues, and it’s now safe to update!
While we were testing these fixes, we decided not to release all of the versions to both Android and iOS. This was to ensure the highest quality experience for everyone.
All players who ran into the technical issues on iOS received compensation as an apology from us.
Is any new content planned for Arena?
We recently updated the theme in Arena, and we aim to continue doing that! New hat upgrades are also being added to the Arena Shop since a few months back–which will also continue.
What is the plan for the Clan-related quests in Treasure Pass?
We heard your feedback on the new Clan Event quests in the Prehistoric Season! In the 10th Anniversary Season, we made changes to ensure that these quests were more achievable, as was the initial design intention. We are monitoring how this goes and will make additional changes if needed. As always, thank you for the feedback!
There is an issue for a few players with the game detecting the player as offline. What’s your plan to resolve this?
Since we re-implemented Offline Mode into Angry Birds 2, there have been a very small number of players whose connection status is incorrectly being shown as offline. This is a top priority for the engineering team, and we are working on it!
The next Flock Forward might be a while away due to the holiday season. Stay tuned, and happy flinging!
