What’s New!
Soar into action with Update 5.0.0! We’re continuing our work on performance and stability and squashing some pesky bugs to improve your flinging experience.
This version will become available to you in the next few days, and while updating to this version isn’t mandatory yet, we highly recommend it to enjoy these improvements.
An Important Update for Android Players
With the 5.0.0 update, we will update our minimum supported version to Android 7 or higher. To stay compliant with the latest Google Play Store requirements and ensure a secure and stable experience for everyone, players on devices running a version lower than Android 7 will be unable to play.
We recommend checking your device’s OS version to ensure you can continue your flinging adventures without interruption!
Technical Improvements
We’re elevating your gameplay with new, exciting improvements and upgrades!
- Loading Time Improvements
- This update includes the first phase of our loading time optimizations to get you into the game faster!
- Engine Upgrade
- As part of our ongoing commitment to a great player experience, we’re continuing to improve the game’s technical performance and stability with an engine upgrade.
- Clan Tech Improvements
- We’ve made several under-the-hood improvements to the Clan Lobby and Clan Event buttons for a more reliable experience.
- Low-Resolution Icons
- We improved the overall quality of the game’s visual elements. Buttons and icons that used to appear in low resolution on certain devices are no longer blurry!
Bug Fixes
- Extra Bird Reset
- Fixed an issue that caused extra birds (usually Melody or Leonard) to be reset.
- Tower of Fortune Access
- Fixed an issue that prevented some players from accessing the Tower of Fortune.
- Game Initialization
- Fixed a bug where some players would see an error message when the game failed to start.
- Offline Pop-Up
- Fixed a bug where some players would receive a “you are offline” pop-up when opening a Treasure Chest, despite being online
…plus many other smaller bug fixes and performance enhancements!
In Angry Birds 2, we always test improvements to the game. If you encounter any changes that are not listed here, you may be part of a test. Feel free to leave us feedback on Discord about it!
Known Issues
Here’s an overview of some of the issues we’re currently working on for a future update:
- Audio
- We are investigating an issue that may cause smaller audio elements to alter in volume or become distorted
- Cloud Progress Error
- We are investigating an issue impacting a small number of players that can cause a “Cloud Progress Error.”
- Localization Bugs
- We are investigating reports of text appearing in the wrong language in some areas of the game.
- iOS Purchase Errors
- We are aware of an issue that causes purchases to fail for some players on iOS devices.
